They chose to replace the border carpet lighting up the space and giving it a fresh look while keeping the carpet they love. The challenges were going from a very low-profile border to a plush pile for the border. Ramping and transitions were not an option so Richard Friedman showed us a little of his flooring ingenuity. He pulled a tool from his stash and sheared the edge to help lower the cut pile to a smoother transition.

While he was sharing this story with me he was wrapping up a job walk that he was measuring. I asked him if he was using a laser to help him and he laughed and said “don’t be silly”, while he did not elaborate, I am sure he has a great method.
